8 Aug : Security arrangements in run up to the Independence Day were reviewed in a meeting attended by top cops in J-K on Saturday.The meeting was chaired by Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda who directed the officials to maintain a close watch on the activities of anti-social elements.
“Ensure peace and order in the society, implement the law of the land in true sense and keep vigil on the activities of anti-social elements who are out to disturb peaceful atmosphere of the state”, Khoda said while addressing the meeting in Srinagar.
He said firm steps have been taken to thwart the “ill designs” of these elements.
Additional Director General of Police (CID) K Rajendra, DIG Srinagar H K Lohia, DIG Baramulla A Q Manhas, DIG Anantnag A S Bali, SSP Srinagar Javaid Riyaz, SSP Baramulla Viplav Kumar, SSP Anantnang Showkat Malik besides district SPs attended the meeting.
Earlier, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Farooq Ahmed apprised the officers present in the meeting about the arrangements for forthcoming Independence Day celebrations.
He stressed upon the officers to ensure that general public does not face any inconvenience during the celebrations.
