JAMMU, Oct 31: National Secular Forum today carried out protest in Jammu University to express dissatisfaction over the functioning of the School Education Department and ignoring chairman J&K State Board of School Education (JK BOSE) Professor Deshbandhu Gupta’s extension to carry out reforms in the education sector.
National Secular Forum member also torched the effigy of School Education Minister.
Nearly 100 student’s activists of NSF led by Mr. Vikas Sharma President National Secular Forum (NSF) raised the slogan against the School Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed Condemning the silence of over the demands high-level enquiry in the recently made adjustments in the 10+2 lecturers’ postings and ignoring chairman J&K State Board of School Education (JK BOSE) Professor Deshbandhu Gupta’s extension to carry out reforms in the education sector.
Vikas Sharma President NSF said that role of Professor Deshbandhu Gupta as chairman J&K State Board of School Education (JK BOSE) is highly appreciable and worth praising. He said that it is imperative to give more time to the chairman board who has taken bold steps by introducing grading system at the school level and keeping a check on the malpractices of elementary teach training institutes in the state.
He said that it is only on the directions of Minister for Education Peerzada Mohd. Sazeed that the Government has extended the term of Secretary JKBOSE by two years for which he was not worth.
He said that where there where recently made adjustments in the 10+2 Lecturer’s postings and transfers in the education department lot of cases of corruption come up and everybody was blaming Minister For Education Peerzada Mohd. Sazeed for such malpractices.
He said that lot of money was taken from the candidates for getting them transferred to the places of their choice. He said that directly or indirectly there was involvement of Minister for Education Peerzada Mohd. Sazeed. He said that Honest, dedicated people like Professor Deshbandhu who want to make changes in the education system are ignored in this corrupt government.
NSF urges the chief minister of the state to hold an inquiry into the extension given to Secretary JKBOSE and also to the recently made adjustments in the 10+2 Lecturer’s postings and transfers in the education department.
