Madhavrao Sapre Museum of Newspapers was established in the year 1984. The silver jubilee of the museum was celebrated in the year 2008-09. The Museum is going to launch a post-graduate diploma in the subject Environment Information Science very soon.
The museum has nearly 40 to 50 lakh pages of reference material which is used by thousands of students for their research works.
One of the proudest achievement of the museum is that 781 students have used its available reference material to acquire the degrees of D Litt, M Phil and PhD degrees so far. The museum is recognised by four universities including Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism, Bhopal, Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur and Kushabhau Thakre University, Raipur.
The Madhavrao Sapre Memorial Museum of Newspaper has established an annual Madhavrao Sapre National Award and a state level Lal Baldev Award. Besides, many journalists from print and electronic media are felicitated for their remarkable contribution to the journalism.
Various journalists from Bhopal and Vidisha, along with members of museum’s working committee have congratulated Manoria on his appointment on the post of museum’s president.
