Bhopal:Saturday, November 21 :The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing industrialists at Hotel Taj here today, has urged them to set up industries in Madhya Pradesh. The industrialists will be provided all the facilities including land, water, power and other infrastructure. They will also be given all kinds of exemptions and relaxations. The new Industrial Policy to be declared shortly will be more industry-friendly. Shri Chouhan sought cooperation from one and all to help lift Madhya Pradesh above BIMARU state tag and make it count among the most prosperous states of the country. He hoped that during the next decade Madhya Pradesh will become a prosperous and most developed states not only in India but it will also be counted among the wealthiest and developed state all over the world. Two years ago, MoUs to the tune of Rs one lakh 59 thousand crore were signed at Investors Conference at Indore. Out of these industrial units worth Rs one lakh crore are being set up speedily. Production has already started in some of these units. The Global Investors Meet was held jointly with Madhya Pradesh government and FICCI.
Shri Chouhan said that relaxations and exemptions will also be given for setting up private sector Food Parks in Madhya Pradesh. Supply of subsidised power will also be considered. All possible facilities will be provided for private sector Logistics Hub in the state. Agriculture will be made profitable for farmers. The country cannot become prosperous unless farmers become prosperous. Development can be ensured when the people stand side by side with the government in this task.
Shri Chouhan said that infrastructure is being developed speedily in Madhya Pradesh for rapid industrialistation. About 52 thousand kilometer roads have been built in Madhya Pradesh. Four-lane roads are also being built to connect divisional and district headquarters. During the last four years, power generation capacity has been increased by 3147 megawatts and plants will be set up for increasing this capacity up to 7500 MW during the next five years. Industries are being supplied power 24 hours and in future as well uninterrupted power supply to them will be ensured. Supply of ample water has also been ensured for industries. Madhya Pradesh is an island of peace from the point of view of law & order. During the last four years, 175 dacoits have been killed. Unlike other states, Madhya Pradesh is completely free from extortions and other forcible recoveries from industrialists. The doors of Madhya Pradesh are open for people of all the states and there is no discrimination against people from any part of India. After coming to Madhya Pradesh, people from all parts of the country turn fully harmonious with the people of the state.
Shri Chouhan urged the industrialists to give priority in employment to the people of that state where they set up their units. The people living in a state should give attention to its development. People living in Madhya Pradesh must lend a helping hand in the state’s developed with a sense of belonging.
Shri Chouhan invited the industrialists to attend the Global Investors Meet to be held at Indore on March 18 and 19 next year.
Industry Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that due to personal interest taken by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, atmosphere of industrialistation has been created in Madhya Pradesh during the last five years. The process of industrialistation has also gathered momentum due to positive attitude of the state’s administrative machinery. A number of exemptions including exemption from Mandi tax are being given on establishment of industries in the state. The pace of industrial development has also increased tremendously in Madhya Pradesh in the wake of reduction in interest rates, increase in irrigated lands and better power supply situation.
Chief Secretary Shri Rakesh Sahni told the industrialists to set up units in Madhya Pradesh keeping in mind the possibilities of agriculture-based industries. The suggestions made by the industrialists for improvement in taxation system will be considered. Power tariffs have not been increased for the last many years and uninterrupted power supply is being made to the industries round the clock. Industrialists who have set up their units in Madhya Pradesh also expressed their views. They said that there is good atmosphere in the state for setting up industries. Shri Rajendra Gupta, who owns a Rs 600 crore industry in Madhya Pradesh and Shri Ravi Sanghi of Sanghi Group also praised Madhya Pradesh government and its administrative officers. Shri Gupta informed that on behalf of Trident Group he will invest Rs 3000 crore in Madhya Pradesh by the year 2010. Principal Secretary Industry Shri Satya Prakash and managing director of TRIFAC Shri Praveen Garg informed the industrialists about investment scenario while Principal Secretary, Food Processing Department Shri Anil Shrivastava propose a vote of thanks.
