The Governor Shri Rameshwar Thakur offered floral tributes at the statue of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on latter’s death anniversary here at Gandhi Bhawan today. Speaking on the occasion of all religious prayer meeting, the Governor has said that any conflict, dispute and problem can not be resolved through violence and weapons. The Government stressed on bringing about an intellectual revolution in the human society so as to stand up against activities of separatists and terrorists.
Shri Thakur underlined the needs for strengthening the bond of fraternity and installing peace in the country and world. He said that the current activities of terrorists and separatists have posed a serious threat to the nation. He called upon the youth to move forward to spearheading an intellectual campaign to fight against such menace. The Governor said that the India has always been a strong supporter of non-violence since the human civilization. The principals of Mahatma Gandhi have impressed the world to install peace.
Shri Thakur appealed the citizens to pledge to lead a life of calm, communal harmony, and fraternity and create an atmosphere of development being united each other in the country.
The Bhajans of Mahatma Gandhi were sung and prayers of all religious faith were chanted. Heads and of all religions, school children and citizens along with the Governor took part in tribute ceremony. On this occasion, Shri Thakur gave away prizes among the children participated in debate and essays competition.
