Bhopal:Saturday, August 16 : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the police officers and employees who busted the outlawed terrorists organisation SIMI’s network would be rewarded. The Chief Minister was addressing a function at his residence yesterday in honour of officers and employees of police, Nagar Sena and Jail departments who were decorated on the occasion of Independence Day.
Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is regarded as island of peace and much of its credit goes to Madhya Pradesh police. The Chief Minister praised the state police for achieving success in busting SIMI network, eliminating dreaded dacoits and unearthing weapons factory of naxalites at Bhopal.
Shri Chouhan said that the duties of police personnel require patience and dedication and exhorted them be alert in their duties as the state government would look after their interests. He said that due to limitations, police personnel cannot raise their voice. Therefore, the state government would always remain vigilant about their interests. On behalf of state’s 6.50 crore population, the Chief Minister extended greetings to all the officers and employees who were decorated with medals at Republic Day function. He said that family members of decorated personnel have also contributed to their success and also congratulated them.
At the outset director general of police Shri S.K. Raut described the work of police department as the most difficult. He said that police existed in the form of security guards and bodyguards from time immemorial when there was no department. Shri Raut extended greetings to all the officers and employees. The function was also addressed by Additional Director General of Police SAF Shri Vijay Raman.
