Bhopal:Tuesday, April 22:Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that the trade in minor forest produced should be promoted and its profits must reach the villagers directly. Kunwar Vijay Shah reviewed the activities of Rajya Laghu Vanopaj Sangh after assuming the charge of its chairman today. He also underlined the need of increasing Tendu Patta collection and early payment of incentive money to Tendu Patta collectors. Those present on the occasion included Principal Secretary Forest Shri Prashant Mehta, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri V.R. Khare, managing director Shri Ramesh K. Dave and senior officers of the Sangh.
Kunwar Vijay Shah instructed the officers to ensure maximum collection of quality Tendu Patta this year. He also issued instructions for timely payment to Tendu Patta collectors. He asked the officers to finalise the records about distribution of Tendu Patta incentive money of the year 2007-08.Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that there is need to promote processing of minor forest produce. He issued directives to prepare a strategy to apprise the masses of the products of Vindhya Herbal and make arrangements for sale of these products.
