A land bank will be set up by identifying lands for development of solar parks in the state. Initially, 2000 hectare land, which is not useful for agriculture and industries, will be identified. This information was given at a meeting of New & Renewable Energy, which was taken here today by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. New & Renewable Energy Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi and Minister of State for Energy Shri Rajendra Shukla were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that solar energy is investment for future. Its importance will increase in future. There is a need to move ahead in this direction by taking a balanced initiative. Shri Chouhan instructed that lands which are not useful for industries should be identified for solar parks and infrastructure developed over there. Study of works done in this connection in Gujarat should also be made.
The meeting was informed that a policy to promote renewable energy has been chalked out in the state. Chief Secretary Shri Avani Vaish, Additional Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram and concerning officers were also present on the occasion.
