22 June : Training on international humanitarian law for police officers begins at Mokokchung tomorrow.The two-day training on International Humanitarian Laws and International Human Rights Law for officers of Nagaland Police will be held at Tourist Lodge in Mokokchung on 23rd and 24th June 2009.
Role of police in democracy, law enforcement practices, responsive and accountable policing, ethics and code of conduct, international humanitarian laws, use of force and fire arms will take the centre stage during the training. Besides, lecture by resource persons on principles of arrest, treatment of detainees in custody and detention will also be figured prominently during the two day intensive training.
The raining will be inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, C.M. Tsanglao; ICRC Consultant, New Delhi, D.K. Arya, IPS (Retd) and Bryan Donkin Rear Adm (Retd) will be the resource persons.
Ao Senden President, Lendinokdang will address the participants during the inaugural session.
