LUDHIANA, April 1: Senior Congress leader and former union minister Manish Tewari today said that the Modi euphoria was fizzling out and people had already started getting disillusioned with the NDA government. “This government is high on decibels and low on deliveries”, he remarked.
In an informal interaction with reporters after inaugurating two tubewells in Shimlapuri here today Tewari asked the NDA government to list at least one achievement to its credit after being in power for about a year now. He said, despite the oil prices having touched a record low the government there was no economic recovery in sight.
“The only achievement of this government is doing the bidding of its corporate masters and snatching away the land of poor farmers to please them”, he observed, while pointing out, how the government was circumventing the legislative process by adopting the ordinance route not once but twice.
Replying to a question on the issue of bickering in the Aam Aadmi Party, the former union minister said, although he did not want to comment on the internal matters of any party, but the general refrain among the people was that the AAP had betrayed the expectations with which people had voted them to power.
Referring to the state of affairs in Punjab, Tewari said that the Akali-BJP alliance will be wiped out in the next elections. He maintained that the AAP will not even be able to open its account in Punjab.
He dismissed the reports of any factionalism in the party in Punjab saying the Congress continued to be the largest party in the state. “Only Congress is in a position to form the next government in Punjab of its own”, he asserted.
On the occasion Pawan Dewan, Gurmail Singh Pehalwan, Satwinder Jawaddi, Baljinder Bunty, Palwinder Taggar, Vinod Bathla, Sunny Kainth, Rohit Pahwa, Rajnish Chopra, G.S Mand, Inderjit Tony Kapoor were also present.
