The School has always believed in the holistic development of the child and sports are an integral part of the education here. The 29th Annual Sports Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in which students from class Pre-Nursery to class VIII participated in various events. The premises were abuzz with various activities with parents watching their children perform with bated breath.
The event commenced with Deep Prajwalan and followed by Saraswati Vandana. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Shri Chanchal Singh, Director of Higher Education, Chandigarh. He was given a floral welcome by the Principal of the school as well as the school Management. After the Flag hoisting was an impressive March past. In his speech, the chief guest exhorted the participants to believe in the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. He declared the meet open after which the sports pledge was taken.
The students then put up a spectacular surya Namaskar and Tipri which was followed by a group song. Various sporting events such as relay race, Teddy bear race, balloon bursting, three leg race, sack and lemon race, skipping race, pearl race, banana eating race and slow cycling race formed the impressive lineup of events for the day. Medals and prizes were awarded to the winners by the Chief Guest who appreciated the sporting spirit displayed by the participants. Not to be left behind, the parents as well as teachers too participated in a race. The Principal of the school Shri. B.S Kanwar gave a vote of thanks and urged the students to strive for excellence. He added that Physical fitness played a major role in the all-round holistic development of the students and the school provided ample opportunities for the same. The mega event ended with Vande Mataram.
