CHANDIGARH, JUNE 10 : MCM Blue Caps of Sector 36 qualified to cross swords with Sri Sri Academy of Panchkula in the final of the Under-10 Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament for St Stephen’s Trophy being organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy. The final will be contested on June 12 at the MCM DAV College ground in Sector 36 at 7.30 a.m.
MCM Blue Caps today defeated Mohali Cricket Academy by 40 runs in the second semi-final played at the MCM DAV College ground. MCM Blue caps medium pacers Anmil and Karan Sood wrecked the Mohali Cricket Academy innings with penetrating bowling. Anmol dismissed four MCA batsmen while giving away 19 runs. Operating from the other end, Karan Sood bowled a tight length to claim three wickets for 9 runs. Spinner Tushar chipped in with 2 for 14 as MCA, chasing a victory target of 125, were dismissed for 84 in 19.2 overs. Gagan and Harmandeep were their main scorers with 11 and 9, respectively.
Earlier, batting first MCM Blue Caps posted 120 for 4 in 20 overs. The highlight of their innings was a polished knock of 46 by Mayank who reached the fence four times. Ashish Das and Tushar contributed 10 and 11, respectively.
Mohali Cricket Academy’s Jatin was the most successful bowler by taaking 2 for 16.
