nd September, 2015 : The PGI Medical Technologists Association arranged an impressive and glittering farewell function in honour of 9 of its retired members. The Chief Guest, Mr. Arun Sood and Mr. Saurabh Joshi, Municipal Councilor and other officers of PGI graced the occasion with their kind presence.
Ashwani Munjal, General Secretary, PGI MTA introduced the retirees. The PGI MTA Function Committee lauded the excellent, sincere and unblemished services rendered by the 9 medical technologists namely, Smt. Usha Gupta, Med. Microbiology, Sh. Mahipal Singh, Radiology, Mrs. Nirmal Agnihotri, ENT, Mr. Ajit Singh, Operation Theatre, Sh. Vinit Kumar Arora, Biophysics, Sh. Gurmail Singh, Advanced Paediatric Centre, Sh. M.S. Bhandari, Parasitology, Mrs. Kiran Bala, Padetric Surgery, Mr. B. Karmakar, Experimental Medicine and Mr. Oliver Smith, Blood Bank.
Mr. Arun Sood, Chief guest, Mr. Saurabh Joshi, Municipal Councilor, Mr. Charan Singh, President, PGI MTA and Sh. Ramesh Kumar Arora, Chairman, Functions Committee presented mementos and gift to the retirees.
Sh. Ramesh Kalra, A.G.M., SBI with his team graced the occasion with his kind presence.
Mr. Arun Sood, Chief Guest lauded the role and importance of medical technologists and their services. He assured to take up the demands and grievances of MTs with Hon’ble Union Health Minister, Sh. J.P. Nadda ji on his visit to Chandigarh on 25th September.
He further assured to take up the issue of providing medicines on cheaper rates to patients by opening PGI Pharmacy as approved by its Governing Body. He further assured to take up the issue of fee and charges levied by PGI and make efforts to bring rates at par with AIIMS, New Delhi.
More than 400 members of the Association and a number of guests attended the glittering farewell function held to bid farewell to retired members. The lunch was also arranged on the occasion.
