By Gayathri Jayaraman : Just like the song “Why This Kolaveri Di?” which became popular in a day, this new “Chennai Super Kings Theme” song composed by Jeffrey Jonathan became viral among social networking sites. With more than 52, 000 views in a day on YouTube, the song scored high in the hearts of CSK fans. “The song, not only sounds catchy and enjoyable, but also remains as an anthem for Chennai Super Kings,” says a CSK fan.
The song has been uplifted by the most refreshing voice from the famous play back singer, M.L.R. Karthikeyan and lyrics penned down by Ko Vijay. Not only did the song grabbed attention, but also the video marked as an outstanding direction by the director Naresh Kumar, who had worked as an assistant director for Mr. Venkat Prabhu. The video casts a bunch of young, peppy dancers from the Twist and Turn Dance studio and Kiran Konda as the leading dancer, while it was choreographed by Satheesh and Sasi. The team also includes editor, Jerome Alen, whose works are also reflected in few short films like Glassmates; and cinematographer, Nizar, who has got profound experiences in working for the movies Mankatha, Saroja, SMS, etc.
“This CSK theme song is a dedication to the CSK fans from the team ‘Glassmates’, which is a short film directed by Naresh Kumar. Just after a week the song was composed, we thought of a video for it, and began searching for the location for the shoot. My friend, Kiran, who is an actor as well as a dancer agreed to dance along with few guys from the Twist and Turn Dance academy on the choreography by Sateesh and in a day the video was completed.
I enjoyed working with my team again; I wish to thank Charles Rishar, the owner of the Facebook page ‘Short Film Factory’ for promoting our video widely,” says Nizar, the cinematographer.
Since it is the IPL season, the video is still extending to reach more number of fans.
