The National Investigation Agency is probing suspected LeT operative David Coleman Headley and his companion Tahawwur Hussain Rana’s links with 26/11 Mumbai attack.
The agency has sought voice samples of Headley from the US Federal agency, after reports that the duo were in Pakistan till 8th December, 2008.
Meanwhile, the NIA has further enlarged its probe into the visit by Headley to various Indian cities including Mumbai and Kochi.
It has formed nearly two dozen teams who have fanned all across the country to track the footprints of the LeT duo.
Issues of granting visa to David Headley by Indian Consulate General in
Chicago without Home Ministry’s clearance and visit by Tahawwur Hussain Rana various Indian cities are being “looked into very carefully” from the security angle, says External Affairs Minister S M Krishna.
Krishna added that issues of cross-border terrorism and incidents of anti-India activities from territories of our neighbouring countries has impacted the process of regional economic engagement.
