In a significant operation, the Punjab Police have dismantled a cross-border drug smuggling racket, leading to the seizure of 105 kg of heroin, 31.93 kg of caffeine anhydrous, and 17 kg of DMR. The operation also resulted in the recovery of five foreign-made pistols and one local firearm.
The police identified two associates of foreign-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh, known as Nav Bhullar, and apprehended Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar. The drugs were reportedly transported via water routes from Pakistan, with big rubber tubes indicating a sophisticated smuggling method.
An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operations Cell in Amritsar, with ongoing investigations aimed at uncovering further links and apprehending additional members of the drug cartel.
