Chandigarh, April 25 – A wave of anger and grief swept across the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, as thousands of employees and medical students gathered to protest against terrorism following the brutal killing of 28 tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The cowardly attack, which took place on Tuesday afternoon, sparked outrage among hospital staff, both regular and outsourced, as well as students.
In a strong show of solidarity, hundreds of employees and students abandoned their lunch breaks to come together and raise their voices against terrorism. The gathering demanded swift and strict action from the Indian government to ensure justice for the victims.
The protestors observed a two-minute silence to honor the memory of the martyred tourists and lit candles as a mark of tribute to their souls.
During the condolence meet, Radiological Safety Officer Laxmikant Tiwari, Security Staff Union President Trilochan Singh, and GMCH Joint Action Committee Head Sukhbir Singh addressed the gathering. They raised slogans such as “Down with Pakistan” and urged the Indian government to take immediate retaliatory action against the perpetrators. The leaders also pledged their full support—physical, emotional, and financial—to the Indian government and armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
The emotional and patriotic gathering highlighted a united stand against terrorism and sent a strong message demanding justice and security for every Indian citizen.
