Chandigarh: To mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of master architect, Le Corbusier, INTACH’s Chandigarh chapter organised a Heritage Walk at Sukhna Lake on Saturday morning. Flagged off by UT Adviser, KK Sharma, around 100 members participated in the walk to the Regulatory End of the lake to spread out the message to preserve the city’s rich heritage buildings and designed of Corbusier.
The young members of INTACH were apprised about the city Heritage of the city beautiful. The walk had a particiipation of prominent citizens from tricity and Delhi.
According to the President Chandigarh Chapter Sh.V.K.Kapoor ,” INTACH Chandigarh Chapter has been making efforts to create awareness among the public about local heritage and its importance by conducting such Walk. ”
On the occasion, nearly 15 students from College of Art also participated in On–the–Spot painting contest where students sitting on the Sukhna Lake promenade painted the Sukhna lake ambience on their canvasses. Their presence enhanced the celebrations amongst the INTACH members and morning walkers.All the students were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates by Local Artists Ms.Neenu Vij in presence of President INTACH and other prominent members.
The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Chandigarh Chapter organised Heritage Walk to mark the 125th Birth anniversary of Le Corbusier here today at Sukhna Lake. The Walk was flagged off by Sh.K.K.Sharma ,Advisor to the Administrator Chandigarh. Around 100 members of INTACH walked together from Sukhna Lake to Regulator End spreading the message of persevering the rich heritage and Buildings of Chandigarh created and designed by Le Corbusier.
