Archit Watts, Chandigarh, August 10 : To keep a check on drunk drivers, UT traffic police is going to conduct special nakas, against drunken driving on every weekend, to avoid road accidents in the city during night hours.
A survey conducted by traffic experts revealed that the main cause of the road accidents is human error, jump of red light and drunken driving, which is a matter of concern to make the city accidents free.
Local police has identified around 10 places for regular checking of drunken driving on every weekend.This year up to August 9, more than 260 challans have been issued for the violation of drunken driving.
SSP (traffic and security) HS Doon, appealed to all the parents not to allow their children to drive vehicle under the influence of liquor and obey traffic rules and regulation while on road.
