9 June,Kohima:Minister for Agriculture Dr. Chumben Murry inaugurated the up-gradation of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Bhandari on 7th June 2008 as the Chief Guest .
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Murry stressed on the proper management of the school for the benefit of the students in particular, adding that teachers should be good molders of the students. He also expressed his sincere gratitude towards the managing authority and teachers of Don Bosco School Bhandari for their contribution in bringing up the school to the present status of the school as a competent one in the district, even though it is situated in a rural area.
Stressing on extra curricular activities for the benefit of the students, Dr. Murry encouraged the school authority and said the establishment of a school library is of utmost importance, since it is the leading path for students’ exposure. He also highlighted the importance of establishing good institutions in rural areas and said that he will encourage anything to be done for the upliftment of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Bhandari during his tenure.
Parliamentary Secretary, Er. W. Kithan who was the guest of honour spoke on the occasion and acknowledged the teachers and the past students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Bhandari who had done their best for the good name of the school. He also said that getting an education means to teach, to guide and to civilize ourselves.
Other dignitaries who spoke during the function were Commissioner & Secretary Road & Bridges and Law & Justice, Mhathung Kithan and Commissioner & Secy. Vety, & Animal Husbandry M. Yanthan, IAS. Speech on behalf of public and parents of students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Bhandari was delivered by Khongtongia Odyuo, President Lotha Lower Range public organization.
Action song and variety shows presented by school children were the other highlights of the programme. Rev. Father Antony Swamy, Principal of the school chaired the programme. Rev. Father Manoj Manuel, Vice Principal pronounced the vote of thanks.
