Chandigarh, April 22, 2025 — A mesmerizing dance drama was presented at the iconic Tagore Theatre by over 120 students of Nav Kaksha, a flagship initiative of Hamari Kaksha. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, with Shri Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest, and Justice K.S. Grewal as the Guest of Honour. Also present were philanthropic members of supporting trusts, who have joined hands with Hamari Kaksha to uplift and empower children through education.
The program began on an auspicious note with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Ms. Sarita Tiwari, Co-Founder of Hamari Kaksha, addressed the gathering and shared the inspiring journey of the organization. She recalled how Hamari Kaksha began as a small after-school program in 2003 with just 7 students, co-founded by Dr. Anuradha Sharma and herself. With the motto “Potential Unlimited”, the initiative has since grown exponentially, impacting hundreds of children.
Ms. Tiwari emphasized the importance of structured after-school activities in bridging achievement gaps, fostering academic, emotional, and social growth, and providing a safe environment for children. In 2024, the team decided to collaborate with various philanthropic organizations across Chandigarh, leading to the establishment of four new centres under the name Nav Kaksha.
The highlight of the evening was a captivating dance drama based on “Tota Kahani” by Rabindranath Tagore. The performance, brought to life by underprivileged students, beautifully depicted the contrast between rigid traditional education systems and modern, holistic approaches that nurture creativity and freedom of thought. The performance concluded on a hopeful note, celebrating today’s inclusive and child-centric education.
In his address, Shri Manish Tewari lauded the tremendous efforts of Team Nav Kaksha and the young performers, acknowledging their talent, passion, and hard work.
The evening concluded with a vote of thanks and a prize distribution ceremony, honoring the outstanding students and the dedicated members of Nav Kaksha for their unwavering commitment.
