By Madhup. Chandigarh, 15th Oct: Automotives have always been a touchstone of a society’s progress. Starting from Penny Farthings to Rudolf’s Diesel engines and now there has been an abundance of overturning technologies that eclipse each other everyday. “SAENIS” in a similar endeavour presents a new Milestone in the realm of “Green Technology” – SAE EffiCycle. As started in 2010, this competition is held for undergraduate and graduate students who aim to simulate, design and fabricate the highly efficient human powered vehicle.
This time, Panjab University’s UIET deptt. has organised “SAENIS EFFI-CYCLE 2011” that started today at the campus. For catering to the day-to-day mobility needs, group of 37 teams from several engineering colleges across India has designed, fabricated and validated the anelectrically assisted human power driven vehicle with seating of two persons.
The dignitaries such as Ms. Pamela Tikku (Deputy Director I-CAT), Mr. Vikram Gulati (Director Operations NATRIP), Mr. Alok Jaitley (GM Engg., Maruti Suzuki) and Mr. Tapan Sahoo (GM Electricals, HVAC & HYBRID’s R&D Division) has attended this event.
SAEINDIA EffiCycle’11 is one such initiative that encourages students to devise technologies that would lay the foundation for the future. This EffiCycle’11 will conclude on 16th Oct, 2011.
