Chandigarh : NSS Unit National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE) PGIMER, Chandigarh organized a Seven days NSS Camp at the NINE Campus and adopted village Sarangpur from 5.12.2023 to 11.12.2023. The Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer (SLO), NSS, Chandigarh. He motivated the NSS volunteers to first and foremost perform the duties of humanity. 152 NSS volunteers actively participated in the events such as presented speech, poem, multicultural dance and power point presentation on NSS activities performed during last year by NSS volunteers. The various activities performed by NSS volunteers during 7 days were Swachhta Abhiyan in village Sarangpur and NINE campus, Self-defense training of NSS volunteers, Awareness session on traffic rules, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, ethical principles in profession, tree plantation and health mela on health lifestyle and stock prevention in village Sarangpur. Dr. Sunita Sharma, Associate Professor, NINE conducted laughter therapy session with NSS volunteers.
The camp concluded on 11.12.2023 and Mrs. Harinder Kaur, Regional Director, NSS Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India was the chief guest for the valedictory function. Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal Coordinator NSS Unit & Principal (Offg.) NINE, PGIMER, Chandigarh welcomed the chief Guest and congratulated the NSS volunteers for completing the NSS camp successfully.
