A MoU of National Health Insurance Scheme was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Under the scheme BPL families will get free of cost treatment in 10 thousand hospitals of the country. The MoU was signed by Union Joint Secretary Shri Anil Swaroop and Madhya Pradesh Principal Secretary Public Health & Family Welfare Shri D.K. Samantray.
Public Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Shri Mahendra Hardia, Minister of State for Home Shri Narayan Singh Kushwah, Secretary Public Health & Family Welfare Smt. Suraj Damor and Directors Public Health & Family Welfare Dr. Ashok Sharma and Dr. V.N. Mittal were also present on the occasion.
Union Joint Secretary Shri Swaroop informed that Smart Cards will be provided to BPL families under the scheme. The card holder will be able to avail free treatment facility in 10 thousand hospitals of the country. Life insurance cover will also be provided to these families. He informed that the labourers of the state working in other states will also have this health security.
Chief Executive Officer of National Health Insurance Scheme Shri Ashwini Kumar Rai informed that the scheme will be run with the coordination of the State and Central Government for providing health insurance cover to poor families of the state. He informed that this scheme will be introduced in Bhopal and Gwalior divisions in the first phase.
