Chandigarh, May 29 — On the eve of the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, Punjab Governor and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, has called upon people to reflect upon and follow the noble teachings of the revered Guru, who made the ultimate sacrifice to uphold the values of humanism, secularism, and the unity of mankind.
In his message, Governor Kataria said that Guru Arjun Dev Ji’s unparalleled sacrifice continues to serve as an enduring source of inspiration not just for this generation but for generations to come.
He highlighted Guru Ji’s monumental contribution — the compilation of the Adi Granth, now revered as the Sri Guru Granth Sahib — which remains an eternal beacon of knowledge and spiritual wisdom. “It guides humanity towards a harmonious society founded on peace, compassion, and prosperity for all,” the Governor stated.
Praising Guru Arjun Dev Ji’s life and legacy, Governor Kataria emphasized that his martyrdom was a powerful stand for dharma and righteousness. He appealed to citizens to observe the martyrdom day in the spirit of traditional harmony, peace, and universal brotherhood.
“The life of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji teaches us to stand firm in the face of adversity and uphold truth and justice with unwavering resolve,” he said.
