Chandigarh, Feb 2: In order to keep a check on the anti-social elements who might make their hideout in the residential areas of the UT, the Chandigarh Administration deems it necessary to ensure that no landlord and owner or manager of commercial establishment shall rent out any accommodation to anyone until and unless he has furnished the particulars of a tenant, approaching him to rent his establishment, to the concerned SHO in writing.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the District Magistrate,Brijendra Singh, under Section 144 Cr PC. In view of the emergent nature of the order, it is being issued ex-parte. The order shall come into force with effect from February 2, 2010 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days up to and including April 2, 2010. This step is being taken to ensure that no anti-social element in the guise of an ordinary tenant is able to cause any harm to the citizens of the city.
