30 June : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that new posts will be created to provide jobs to trained unemployed doctors in the state."More posts of dental surgeons, medical officers in Indian System of Medicines (ISM) and allopathy are being created to absorb the unemployed trained doctors in the state," Abdullah said at a function after inaugurating two hostel buildings at a cost of Rs 5.80 crores in Indira Gandhi Dental college in Jammu on Monday.
The government is also contemplating to enhance the honorarium of those doctors who would serve in the far-flung areas, he said.Abdullah said the government has also asked Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to take up the matter of according early recognition to the Indira Gandhi Dental College here with Dental Council of India.
Referring to the development scenario in the state, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to speeding up the pace of development in all the three regions of the state.
