Chandigarh, August 16: On the occasion of Independence Day, the Kheda Wrestling Club organized a grand Kabaddi and Wrestling competition at Daddu Majra village, drawing enthusiastic participation and community spirit. The event was graced by Member of Parliament and former Union Minister Manish Tewari, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Extending warm greetings to the nation, Tewari conveyed his Independence Day wishes and reminded the gathering of the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters. He emphasized that the day serves as a reminder not only of the heroes who laid down their lives for the country’s independence but also of the responsibilities citizens must uphold towards the nation.
Praising the event, Tewari lauded the efforts of Club President Kuldeep Singh Saini and the organizers, noting that Daddu Majra has long been a hub of sports, culture, and brotherhood. He commended the youth for their role in preserving and promoting traditional games like wrestling for future generations. Encouraging the players, he acknowledged their talent and dedication while appreciating the organizers’ hard work in keeping the spirit of sports alive.
On this occasion, villagers and residents of the colony expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Tewari for his presence.
