CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Ltd. successfully wrapped up its Cooperative Week celebrations, held from June 29 to July 6, 2026. The week featured a robust series of customer awareness programs and community welfare initiatives across its various branches in U.T. Chandigarh.
The extensive activities were organized under the guidance of D. Karthikeyan, IAS, Managing Director of the Bank, and in accordance with the directives of the Department of Cooperation, U.T. Chandigarh.
Driving Digital and Financial Inclusion
Throughout the week, the Bank conducted wide-reaching awareness campaigns designed to educate both existing and prospective customers. The primary focus areas included:

Digital Empowerment: Sensitizing customers about Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, UPI, and the use of RuPay Debit Cards.

Security and Compliance: Educating the public on safe digital banking practices, cyber security, fraud prevention measures, and the importance of KYC compliance and nomination registration.

Financial Inclusion: Raising awareness about various deposit products and crucial Government-sponsored social security schemes.
According to bank officials, the initiatives received a highly encouraging response from the public, strongly reinforcing the institution’s commitment to modern financial inclusion.
A Green Conclusion
To mark the conclusion of Cooperative Week, the Bank organized a massive Tree Plantation Drive on Monday, July 6, at the Green Belt in Sector 51, Chandigarh, reaffirming its dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable urban development.
Sh. Jujhar Singh Badheri, Chairman of the Bank, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sh. Jasmanpreet Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, attended as the Special Guest. Bank Directors Sh. Talochan Singh and Sh. Balkrishan Rana also actively participated by planting saplings, encouraging local citizens to contribute towards making Chandigarh greener and healthier.
Concluding the event, Sh. Hardeep Singh expressed official gratitude on behalf of the Bank to the dignitaries, officers, staff members, and participants. He reiterated the Bank’s unwavering commitment to delivering customer-centric banking services while actively promoting digital awareness, environmental sustainability, and the broader cooperative movement across the Union Territory.
