Chandigarh, February 13, 2025: The Centre for Police Administration, in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Gyan Setu Think Tank, successfully organized a book discussion on “General’s Jottings: National Security, Conflicts and Strategies” authored by Lt. Gen (Dr.) K.J. Singh, PVSM, AVSM and Bar (Veteran). The event took place in the Seminar Hall of the Centre for Police Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The discussion commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Chairperson of the Centre for Police Administration, who extended a warm welcome to the Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Arun K. Grover, Former Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, and the distinguished speaker, Lt. Gen (Dr.) K.J. Singh.
Presiding over the session, Prof. (Dr.) Arun K. Grover emphasized the importance of fostering inter-institutional cooperation, encouraging academic institutions to function as think tanks for innovation and research to achieve national objectives. He underscored the role of sustainable universities in promoting comprehensive academic development.
Lt. Gen (Dr.) K.J. Singh provided deep insights into contemporary national and global security issues. He elaborated on the ‘whole of nation’ approach to national security, highlighting the need for collective participation in building Comprehensive National Power (CNP). His discussion revolved around the concept of Citizen Warriors and offered a structured framework to simplify complex security issues.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Monga, Senior Faculty at the Centre for Police Administration. The discussion witnessed the participation of 75 attendees, including senior faculty members from various departments of Panjab University, guest faculty, research scholars, students from the Centre, and NCC cadets.
The book discussion served as a significant platform for intellectual discourse on national security, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between academia, security agencies, and citizens in shaping strategic policies for the nation.
