Chandigarh: On the occasion of National Youth Day, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Vidyarthi Kalyan Trust, successfully organized a grand “Run for Viksit Bharat” Marathon at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. The event aimed to spread awareness about the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and inspire youth to actively contribute to nation-building.
More than 1,500 students from various colleges and universities of Chandigarh participated enthusiastically in the marathon, reflecting strong youth engagement and patriotic spirit.
The Honorable Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, graced the event as the chief guest. He felicitated the winners and encouraged the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle while playing an active role in shaping the future of the nation.
The marathon was flagged off by Rajya Sabha MP Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu and ABVP Punjab State President Prashant Gautam, who appreciated the energetic participation of students. They stated that such initiatives are essential in transforming the vision of a developed India into reality.
The event was supported by its main sponsors Raj Malhotra IAS Academy, Chandigarh Dinbhar, and Vita, whose contribution ensured the smooth and successful execution of the marathon.
ABVP National Secretary Aditya Takiar said that the event witnessed tremendous enthusiasm among students, with an atmosphere filled with nationalism, discipline, and positive energy. He reaffirmed ABVP Chandigarh’s commitment to organizing more such social and nation-building activities in the future.
