Mullanpur Garibdass, April 7: A highly informative and impactful Breast Cancer Awareness Lecture was successfully conducted at ML Puri School of Eminence, Mullanpur Garibdass, S.A.S. Nagar, Punjab, on the occasion of World Health Day. The event aimed to spread awareness about breast cancer, highlighting the importance of early detection, prevention, and timely medical intervention among young students.

The session was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Pandey from GMCH-32, Chandigarh. With over 38 years of experience and specialization in breast cancer, Dr. Pandey delivered an insightful lecture on the causes, symptoms, preventive measures, and the significance of regular health check-ups. His engaging interaction and expert knowledge left a lasting impression on the audience.

He was accompanied by his dedicated team members, Krishna Yadav, a Research Fellow, and Mamta, a Physiotherapist from Chandigarh. Both professionals enriched the session by sharing their expertise and experiences, making the lecture more comprehensive and relatable. Female students were also sensitized about the importance of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer.

The event was attended by members of the School Management Committee (SMC), parents, and distinguished guests from Panjab University and Mullanpur, adding to its significance.

Students responded enthusiastically, actively participating and asking thoughtful questions. Their curiosity and engagement reflected a growing awareness of contemporary health issues among the younger generation. The interactive nature of the session made it highly engaging and beneficial for all attendees.

The success of the event was attributed to the dynamic leadership and guidance of the Principal, Ms. Jyoti Soni, Additional Director of SOE Schools, Punjab. Her vision and commitment to student welfare and holistic education played a key role in organizing this important awareness initiative.

Special appreciation was extended to Ms. Manjeet Tewari, English Lecturer, for her dedicated efforts in organizing and coordinating the event efficiently.

Overall, the session proved to be a great success, leaving students more informed, aware, and empowered to lead healthier lives.
