Anjaneya Tewari, CHANDIGARH: Emphasizing the importance of public health and accessible fitness infrastructure, Chandigarh Member of Parliament and former Union Minister Shri Manish Tewari dedicated a newly installed open-air gym to the public at Leisure Valley, Sector 10.
The new outdoor fitness facility was successfully developed with a grant of approximately ₹5 lakh, allocated directly from the MP’s Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund.
Promoting a Healthier Society
Addressing the gathering during the inauguration, MP Manish Tewari reiterated his ongoing commitment to promoting better health and an active lifestyle among the city’s citizens.
He noted that the open-air gym is specifically designed to benefit people of all age groups, from youth to senior citizens. Emphasizing the broader impact of personal well-being, Tewari stated that a healthy individual is far better equipped to fulfill their fundamental responsibilities towards both their family and society at large.
Furthermore, the MP assured residents that several other crucial development projects are currently underway across various sectors of the city to improve public amenities.
Fulfilling Long-Pending Demands
The initiative was warmly received by local leaders and residents alike. Chandigarh Congress Committee President H.S. Lucky, who was present at the event, publicly thanked MP Manish Tewari for actively addressing and fulfilling the long-pending demand of the residents of Sector 10.
Lucky emphasized that access to good health and fitness infrastructure is the right of every citizen, adding that the Congress Party has consistently stood for protecting the rights and overall welfare of the people.
The inauguration ceremony saw a strong turnout from the local community. Among the distinguished guests and community figures present on the occasion were S. Amarjit Singh Kahlon, Sandeep Varmani, and Rajinder Kashyap, who were joined by a large number of enthusiastic local residents welcoming the new facility.
