New Delhi, August 12 — The Ministry of Culture has launched the 4th edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, urging citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes and celebrate the spirit of patriotism ahead of Independence Day.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that this year’s campaign has already drawn over 5 lakh youth volunteers, who will inspire citizens to participate nationwide. Calling it “more than just a campaign,” he described Har Ghar Tiranga as an “emotional movement that unites 1.4 billion Indians under the timeless colours of our National Flag.”

The Minister emphasised that the initiative aims to instil patriotism, foster civic pride, and spread awareness about the Tiranga as a living symbol of India’s democracy and independence.

During the launch, Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal gave a detailed presentation on the campaign’s objectives and outreach strategy.

The programme seeks to strengthen personal connections between citizens and the National Flag, encouraging participation beyond formal or institutional settings. It calls on every Indian to hoist the Tiranga with pride, honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to unity, integrity, and progress.

As the nodal ministry, the Ministry of Culture is coordinating with state governments, Union Territories, educational institutions, community organisations, and the public for maximum participation. Citizens are urged to display the Tiranga at homes, offices, and public spaces, and share celebrations online using #HarGharTiranga.
