The Department of transfusion Medicine, PGlMER, chandigarh started the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day campaign going to be celebrated on 1st october,
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, chandigarh led this campaign by donating himself on this occasion. ln line with the objectives and slogan for the campaign
“celebrating 20 years of giving: Thank you, blood donors t.”, the department of Transfusion Medicine conducted 5 blood donations camps on the followings places- -1. BJP Bhawan, Sector 37, Chandigarh.

Parking of Booth No. 30244, Sector22-D, Chandigarh. Parking of gupta Agencies SCO 80 Sector 24 C, Chandigarh and approx..250 blood units were collected. During this period, various blood donor motivational and awareness campaigns will be carried out alongwith holding blood donation camps. The Department of Transfusion Medicine extends its warm greetings and expresses its sincere gratitude to all the blood donors who donated
blood on regular basis as a noble gesture in the service of mankind. lt is due to their generous efforts that the department collects around 60-70,000 units in a year and supplies more than 2 lacs blood components to the critically sick patients within and outside the institute.
