Ludhiana, March 13, 2025: Cabinet Minister S. Harpal Singh Cheema was met with enthusiastic slogans in favor of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government, and Punjab Police as he arrived in village Seehan Daud (Ludhiana) to personally hand over Bhavkirat Singh, a Class I student who was kidnapped, back to his parents.
The successful rescue of the child, who was abducted by two motorcycle-borne suspects, was completed within 24 hours, thanks to the swift and decisive action of Punjab Police.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann personally spoke with Bhavkirat’s parents, Ranvir Singh and Jaspreet Kaur, reassuring them of his government’s firm stance against crime. Expressing their immense relief, the parents thanked CM Mann, the Punjab Government, and Punjab Police, emphasizing that it was only due to their timely intervention that their son was safely reunited with them.
Lauding the state police for their strict and speedy action, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema sent a strong warning to criminals, stating:
“Anyone indulging in such heinous crimes will face encounters—there is no place for such elements in our ‘Rangla Punjab’.”
He reaffirmed the AAP government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Punjab’s residents, emphasizing that law enforcement has been given a free hand to eliminate crime and criminal elements.
Police Encounter Leads to Justice
The abduction, which took place on the outskirts of Seehan Daud in Payal subdivision (Ludhiana), saw a dramatic conclusion when one of the kidnappers was killed in a police encounter, while two others were swiftly apprehended.
CM Bhagwant Mann also took to social media, warning criminals that there is “no place for such notorious elements in Punjab.”
