NEW DELHI: In a bid to ensure a seamless and foolproof examination process, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to review the structural preparedness for the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled for June 21.
The critical review session was joined by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K. Radhakrishnan, who currently heads the High-Powered Steering Committee tasked with reforming and overseeing the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to the Ministry of Education, the discussions centered on aggressively strengthening examination security and assessing multi-layered surveillance mechanisms to guarantee a completely fair and transparent process.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Higher Education, the Director General of the NTA, and senior officials from both the ministry and the testing agency. During the briefing, the DG of the NTA outlined the enhanced security protocols and advanced digital surveillance systems being deployed across various test centers.
Minister Pradhan emphasized that while maintaining absolute examination integrity is a non-negotiable priority, equal care must be taken to provide a comfortable, student-friendly atmosphere with adequate basic facilities at all locations.
The high-stakes NEET-UG 2026 re-examination is set to take place at more than 5,400 examination centres distributed across 550 cities nationwide.
