PANCHKULA: In view of a high-calibre bomb testing trial being conducted today, May 31, 2026, by the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), authorities have issued a critical safety advisory for local residents. Inhabitants of Bhanu and Billa villages have been urgently requested to remain strictly indoors between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to avoid potential hazards.
The strategic trial is taking place at the specialized TBRL Test Range in Ramgarh, located in the Panchkula district.
Deputy Commissioner Shri Satpal Sharma informed that during the high-calibre explosion, bomb fragments and splinters are expected to rise to an altitude of approximately 1.5 km. Furthermore, the debris may spread within a radius of 2 km in the horizontal plane from the exact point of the burst.
To ensure the safe conduct of the military trial, a comprehensive safety cover extending up to 2 km from the burst point has been established. Deputy Commissioner Sharma added that because Bhanu and Billa villages fall directly within this designated splinter danger zone, staying indoors is an essential precautionary measure to safeguard lives.
The high-profile test trial carries significant defense importance and will be witnessed firsthand by top dignitaries from the Air Force Headquarters. Local police and administrative teams are monitoring the perimeter of the test range to ensure public safety guidelines are strictly followed during the two-hour window.
