Coach’s Appeal to Chandigarh’s Youth
Following the championship, Sh. Manavpreet Singh Bawa—an international handball player, referee, and NIS Patiala topper—commended the players for their discipline and dedication. He expressed his gratitude to the Chandigarh Administration’s Sports Department for providing essential infrastructure and to his own mentors, including retired District Sports Officer Sh. Ravinder Singh Bawa.
Using the occasion to promote the sport, Bawa strongly encouraged the youth of Chandigarh to take up handball, describing it as a fast-paced, Olympic-level indoor team sport that tests speed, agility, and tactical coordination.
“Our aim should not only be to produce medal winners but also to develop disciplined, confident, and responsible individuals through sports. Sports play a vital role in building leadership, physical fitness, and a positive attitude towards life.”
He appealed to local parents to actively support their children in utilizing the coaching and training opportunities currently available across Chandigarh.
