NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially opened its post-result services portal for Class 12 students seeking a formal reevaluation of their board exam marks. The board has cautioned that the digital reevaluation window will remain operational only until June 6, after which no fresh applications will be accepted.
However, CBSE has mandated a strict prerequisite for applicants: only those candidates who have already applied for and obtained a photocopy of their evaluated answer books are eligible to seek a reevaluation.
Step-by-Step Reevaluation Process
To ensure an error-free submission, the board has advised students to carefully review their answer books before logging on and completing the process through the following steps:
-
Step 1 – Portal Access & Authentication: Students must visit the official CBSE post-result services portal and complete the designated identity verification and authentication process.
-
Step 2 – Credential Login: Candidates are required to enter their formal credentials, including their roll number, school number, and admit card ID, to gain access to the secure portal.
-
Step 3 – Service Selection: Once logged in, students must select the reevaluation option and choose the specific subject they want reviewed.
-
Step 4 – Question-Specific Targeting: Unlike older systems of general rechecking, students must pinpoint and specify the exact question numbers they want reevaluated. CBSE will exclusively review only the answers explicitly selected by the candidate.
-
Step 5 – Fee Payment: Applicants must pay the prescribed processing fee online using the integrated payment modes. Applications will only be queued for evaluation after a successful payment transaction.
-
Step 6 – Save Acknowledgement: Following final submission, candidates must download and save the confirmation page and acknowledgement receipt for future institutional reference.
Finality of Revised Scores
Students must note that the outcome of the post-result review is variable. Following the examiner’s fresh look, a candidate’s marks may increase, decrease, or remain entirely unchanged depending on the technical findings. CBSE has made it clear that whatever the final determination may be, the revised marks will be treated as absolute and final.
