Anjaneya Tewari, Chandigarh: Celebrating India’s glorious cultural legacy, Saupin’s School in Sector 32 organized a vibrant and historically rich exhibition focused on the “Mauryan and Early Gupta Period.”
The grand showcase was officially inaugurated by Shri Saurabh Joshi, the Honorable Mayor of Chandigarh, who highly commended the school’s efforts to promote dynamic learning initiatives that go beyond traditional classroom boundaries to instill a deep sense of pride in India’s rich heritage.
A Glimpse into Ancient Brilliance
During his visit, Mayor Joshi spent time interacting directly with the students. He expressed his deep appreciation for the meticulous research, attention to detail, and profound historical understanding reflected by the young learners.
The exhibition floor presented a highly impressive collection of historical recreations, featuring:
-
Architectural Models: Detailed physical representations highlighting the structural brilliance of ancient Indian empires.
-
Intricate Sculptures: Handcrafted pieces showcasing the specific artistic achievements and cultural nuances of the Mauryan and early Gupta eras.
-
Interactive Presentations: Students confidently explaining the historical significance and context of each exhibit to the attendees.
Parents, guest educators, and visitors lauded the students’ remarkable confidence and the impressive depth of knowledge they displayed throughout the event.
A Two-Year Labor of Love
Organizing the massive exhibition was no small feat; school officials described the event as a true “labor of love” that took a full two years of continuous preparation to come to fruition.
Principal Surita Sharma applauded the immense, sustained efforts of the participating children. She also extended special recognition to the project’s lead facilitators, Mr. Siddharth Vaishnav and Mr. Amanpreet Singh, for their dedicated guidance.
This recent event firmly builds upon Saupin’s School’s strong tradition of immersive historical education. Over the past two years, the school has successfully conceptualized and showcased similar high-scale exhibitions focusing on the Mohenjo-daro settlements and the ancient Egyptian civilization.
