Chandigarh, July 16: Under the newly launched “Adopt a School” scheme by the Education Department, UT Chandigarh, Dr. Rupesh K. Singh, Head of Adani Group for Punjab and Haryana, has been appointed as the mentor for Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 21-A, Chandigarh.
Dr. Singh visited the school today and engaged in a meaningful interaction with Principal Mrs. Sukhpal and the faculty members. He laid out his vision for the holistic development of the students and emphasized enhancing school infrastructure, communication skills, and career guidance for senior students.
As part of his roadmap, Dr. Singh proposed the establishment of:
- A Young Communicators Club
- Start-up Clubs to promote entrepreneurship
- A Career Guidance Cell
He also suggested initiatives focused on fostering leadership, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and moral values among students.
In a significant move, Dr. Singh encouraged the school to publish a student-run periodical newsmagazine, aiming to build editorial skills, expression, and confidence in the student body.
He commended the school’s existing efforts and assured continued support in alignment with the goals of the “Adopt a School” initiative. As a symbolic gesture of growth and commitment, Dr. Singh planted a sapling on the school campus, marking the beginning of this impactful association.
The visit was well-received by the school community and is expected to pave the way for transformative changes in the institution’s academic and co-curricular landscape.
