PGI Radiology Residents sweep awards at National Annual Pediatric Radiology Conference
Faculty and Residents of the Department of Radiodiagnosis, PGIMER, Chandigarh, brought laurels to the department at the 22nd Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology (ISPR), held at King George Medical University, Lucknow. The meeting was attended by around 300 delegates from India and abroad. Dr. Akshay Saxena, a world renowned Pediatric Radiologist working in the department of Radiodiagnosis at PGIMER, Chandigarh was the National President of ISPR at this conference.
Prof. Kushaljit S Sodhi and Dr. Anmol Bhatia from the department were elected as the President-elect and Treasurer of this National society, respectively. Dr. Nishita Yadav, Junior Resident from the Department won the very coveted first prize in Research paper poster presentation category for her work conducted under the mentorship and guidance of Prof. Akshay K Saxena.
Other residents who won various awards included Dr. Swaroop (first prize in case report ), Dr. Shouvik (second prize in poster presentation), and Dr. Joseph (second prize in oral paper presentation). In addition, the Residents’ team of Dr. Shouvik, Dr. Vikram, and Dr. Chandra Shekhar also won the very coveted First Prize in the very competitive film reading competition.
Dr. MS Sandhu, Prof. and Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis said that it is a matter of great pride that the high-quality research work in Pediatric Imaging being done in the department is being highly appreciated at the National level. He further mentioned that since the inception of the ISPR in 2003, Faculty members of the department have been very actively contributing to the progress of this National Society.
