Chandigarh, January 6. Member of Parliament from Chandigarh and former Union Minister Manish Tewari today inaugurated an open-air gym set up in Village Behlana with funds released under the MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) Scheme, and dedicated it to the residents of the area. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky and several prominent local personalities.
Addressing the gathering, MP Tewari said that the open-air gym would play a vital role in promoting fitness and healthy living among residents. He emphasized that a healthy individual is better equipped to fulfil responsibilities towards family and society, adding that such facilities contribute meaningfully to community well-being. He also assured that there would be no shortage of funds for the overall development of Chandigarh.
Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky thanked MP Tewari for consistently utilizing his parliamentary quota to address the basic needs of the people and for supporting initiatives aimed at improving public infrastructure.
Among those present on the occasion were Malkit Singh Goldy, Lambardar Sita, Narinder Singh, Dr. Russell, Shyam Lal, Sunder Lal, Trilok Singh, Harjit Kumar, Surinder Chhinda, Pradeep Singh, Captan Singh, and Kirpanand Thakur.
The new open-air gym is expected to become a popular fitness hub for residents, especially youth and senior citizens, encouraging a more active and healthy lifestyle in the village.
