Chandigarh — Delhi Public School (DPS), Chandigarh, organised a two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme in English under the guidance of the school Director, Mrs Reema Dewan, aimed at strengthening the professional competencies of secondary-level teachers.
Emphasising the importance of continuous learning, Mrs Dewan highlighted that regular upskilling of educators is essential to keep pace with the evolving trends in education. She reiterated her commitment to empowering teachers by enhancing their soft skills and pedagogical expertise through such professional development initiatives.
The interactive programme was conducted by eminent resource persons Mrs Kulwant Kaur Rehal and Ms Arti Sharma, whose rich experience added immense value to the sessions. Mrs Rehal, a renowned educationist with over 30 years of teaching experience, holds a B.Ed degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Guidance. Ms Arti Sharma, PGT English and Head of Department at Satluj World School, Derabassi, brings with her more than 15 years of teaching experience in the field of English education.
The sessions focused on innovative and activity-based strategies for teaching reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and story writing. Teachers were introduced to practical classroom techniques designed to make language learning more engaging, effective and student-centric.
Participants lauded the programme for its insightful content and hands-on approach, stating that the newly learned methods would significantly enhance classroom teaching. The initiative reaffirmed DPS Chandigarh’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional growth of its educators.
