CHANDIGARH — In an effort to promote value-based education and holistic development, the Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, successfully organized a National Seminar titled “Fostering Universal Human Values: Building a Compassionate, Inclusive and Sustainable Society.” Sponsored by the College Development Council (CDC) of Panjab University and organized under the college’s IQAC and UHV Cell, the event brought together more than 85 academicians, administrators, and subject experts to deliberate on the critical role of human values in shaping a responsible society.

The Chief Guest: Mrs. Prerna Puri, IAS, Education Secretary of the Chandigarh Administration, highlighted the pivotal role educators play in shaping society. Drawing upon the classic tale of the saint and the scorpion, she emphasized that teachers must remain a steadfast source of inspiration, guiding students with unwavering patience and dedication regardless of the challenges they face.

The enriching academic event concluded with a Valedictory Address by Prof. Shankar Sehgal, Coordinator of the UHV Cell at Panjab University. Dr. A. K. The entire seminar was conceptualized and executed under the expert guidance of the college Principal, Dr. Sapna Nanda, with active support from the IQAC and UHV Committee.
