ZUNHEBOTO — K. Tokugha Sukhalu, IAS (Retd.), MLA and Advisor for Food and Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, and Chairman of the Urban Local Bodies and Village Council Committee, Nagaland, paid a special visit to Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Zunheboto on Friday, March 20.
Accompanied by NPF 35 Zunheboto AC party workers, the visit underscored his continued commitment to the progress and development of the region’s educational institutions.
Inspiring the Next Generation Addressing the students during the morning assembly, Sukhalu drew upon his personal connection to the school, having received his own early education at the very same institution. He reminded the students of the school’s proud legacy of producing numerous successful bureaucrats and technocrats over the years.
“If they can do it, why can’t you?” he asked, challenging the students to study hard and pursue their highest goals with determination.
During his address, the Advisor imparted several key pieces of practical advice to the young learners:
-
Value Mentorship: He urged students to deeply respect and honor their teachers, highlighting their vital role in guiding and shaping their futures.
-
Seek Clarity: He advised them to clarify their academic doubts directly with their teachers, rather than relying on the potentially confused understanding of their peers.
-
Cultivate Discipline: He heavily emphasized the importance of maintaining strict punctuality in their daily academic lives.
Empowering the Educators Following the assembly, Sukhalu held a brief, constructive meeting with the school’s faculty, led by the Vice Principal. During the session, various staff grievances and administrative challenges were shared and discussed.
Sukhalu encouraged the teaching staff to remain sincere and dedicated in their indispensable service to the younger generation, concluding his visit with a powerful acknowledgment of their supreme role in nation-building:
“No matter what the politicians, bureaucrats, and technocrats do, teachers are the people who will build students’ futures, and not us.”
