CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Athletics Association successfully concluded the Chandigarh Sub-Junior, Junior, and Under-23 State Athletics Championship 2026-27. The highly anticipated sporting event took place at the Sports Complex in Sector 7-B, Chandigarh, from August 25 to August 27.
The championship saw wide-ranging participation from across the “City Beautiful”. The competition was exclusively open to athletes who currently reside, study, or work in Chandigarh. Competitors representing various local schools, colleges, universities, corporate boards, government departments, and sports clubs took to the field to showcase their athletic prowess.
Pathway to Zonal and National Glory
Beyond local prestige, the championship served as a critical selection ground. Based on their performance metrics and final standings, qualified athletes from this meet will be officially selected to represent Chandigarh in three major upcoming tournaments:

37th North Zone Junior Athletics Championships 2026-27: Scheduled to be held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from September 14 to September 16, 2026.

6th Indian U-23 Athletics Competition: Scheduled to take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from October 16 to October 18, 2026.

41st Junior National Athletics Championship 2026-27: Set to be hosted in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from October 23 to October 27, 2026.
With the state championship now concluded, the selected athletes will immediately begin their intensive training camps to prepare for these high-stakes national and zonal competitions in the coming months.
