Ropar, September 29, 2024 – The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, in collaboration with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM), successfully concluded the “VIVIBHA-2024” Research Warriors Award Ceremony, celebrating the significance of research as a cornerstone for realizing the vision of ‘Vikshit Bharat 2047’. The event, reflecting BSM’s commitment to fostering research diversity while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage, was a testament to the collaboration between academia and cultural organizations in Punjab.

The ceremony, moderated by Prof. Arvind Dwivedi of Government College, Chandigarh, began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the esteemed dignitaries. Prof. R.P. Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, and Vice-President of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Punjab Prant, graced the event as the Guest of Honor. He was formally welcomed by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar and President of BSM Punjab Prant.

The event’s cultural opening included a recital of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal’s Dhyeya Shlok by Mr. Gaurav Kumar from Panjab University, Chandigarh, followed by the Dhyeya Vakya delivered by Dr. Ranjan Walia from Chandigarh University. Dr. Manjeet Bansal, Prant Mantri of BSM Punjab Prant, introduced the distinguished guests and outlined the purpose and structure of the ceremony.

In his keynote address, Prof. R.P. Tiwari emphasized the transformative role of research in developing academic, critical, and logical thinking. He underscored the importance of Bharat-centric, learning-driven research that aligns with the vision of ‘Vikshit Bharat’. Prof. Tiwari encouraged students to embrace creativity and continuous learning, emphasizing that research papers are powerful tools for national development. He further pledged his support to strengthen the research ecosystem in Punjab.

Dr. Ajay Rawal commended the participants, referring to them as “intellectual warriors” contributing to the nation’s progress. He stressed the importance of high-quality research for nation-building, recognizing the contributions of research across 11 specialized sub-themes, and reaffirmed India’s aspiration to become a ‘Vishwa Guru’.

Prof. Rajeev Ahuja welcomed all dignitaries and congratulated the selected research paper authors. He expressed his gratitude to the officials and volunteers of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal for their efforts in organizing the event. Drawing from his own experience of authoring over 1,150 research papers, Prof. Ahuja emphasized the importance of collaboration in research and maintaining ethical standards, particularly in avoiding plagiarism.
