NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially launched the Parenting Calendar for the Academic Session 2026-27 on Wednesday, marking a continued commitment to collaborative education.
Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this initiative was first introduced in the 2025-26 academic session with the clear objective of strengthening the partnership between parents and schools to promote holistic student well-being. Following an overwhelmingly positive response and active stakeholder engagement across the country, CBSE has renewed the initiative to build upon its proven efficacy and impact.
What’s New in the 2026-27 Edition? The updated CBSE Parenting Calendar further expands this vision by institutionalizing structured engagement between schools and parents. The latest edition introduces enhanced engagement strategies, teacher-led activities, and focused psychosocial initiatives. These additions aim to support students’ emotional, social, and academic growth while directly addressing the unique challenges parents face in today’s rapidly evolving environment.
To enhance its scope and relevance, several new and enriched components have been incorporated:
-
Focus on Inclusion: Dedicated sections promoting awareness, sensitivity, and equitable practices for diverse learners.
-
Coping with Changes: Targeted support for parents and students adapting to curriculum shifts and evolving academic expectations.
-
Enhanced Parenting Workshops: A significantly strengthened section integrating a developmental perspective, enabling schools to design age-appropriate and contextually relevant engagement programs.
Core Objectives and Implementation Designed to foster meaningful parent-child interactions, the calendar serves as a practical, hands-on guide for parents to actively participate in their child’s developmental journey. The initiative aims to build a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive ecosystem that promotes the resilience of every learner.
The live launch event witnessed broad participation from school principals, teachers, counselors, wellness educators, and parents seeking insights into the calendar’s implementation. Concluding the event, the CBSE strongly encouraged all affiliated schools and stakeholders to actively adopt and integrate the Parenting Calendar into their academic year.
